Another Zoo Adventure

We were just at the zoo on Tuesday with family, but we were invited to go again today with some friends. Last night when I checked the weather, there was a chance of rain. This morning when I checked again, the weather app said 60% chance. Scattered showers. After a few text messages back and forth, we decided to try it. Despite the looming clouds and a few sprinkles, we met at the zoo with our rain gear and kids in tow.

We lasted an hour before we took shelter for lunch. Another discussion ensued, stick around or give up? We decided we'd go to the far end of the zoo to see the giraffes and then we'd go home. When we got to the rhinos (almost but not quite all the way to the giraffes), it started really raining. For real, no more sprinkles, rain. And we all started running, constantly looking around to make sure we hadn't lost any kids (SEVEN of them!), then running, telling the kids not to poke someone's eye out with that umbrella, keep up, GO!

By the time we got to the car we were all soaked from head to toe, laughing and the kids were saying, this was the BEST day of my life! (Archer) And, this was the BEST zoo venture EVER! (Shelly)

We certainly didn't plan it that way, but it made for fantastic memories of a zoo trip we won't soon forget!
