Whenever Shelly sees that I'm upset about something she wants to give me hugs and kisses to make me feel better. She calls them "happy kisses." "Mom, I give you happy kisses and hugs and then you will feel better. Ok, Mom?" Isn't it amazing how a child can simplify a problem and make an adult realize that it doesn't need to be any more complicated than that? It challenges me to let go of whatever my big problem is and just focus on the moment right now with my children, not let other things get in the way of my family. There's time enough to face the troubles in life, what we'll regret later is letting the trouble interfere with our time together.
